Blue World Technologies’ methanol fuel cell technology can be applied to several applications replacing diesel generators and combustion engines. Through research and development, we aim to industrialise our technology, providing energy-efficient and competitive methanol fuel cells to industries around the world.
As a part of the Power-to-X eco-system, the methanol fuel cell technology contributes to solving parts of the green transition that cannot be solved by direct electrification and battery technology alone.

Blue World Technologies is founded on extensive experience from the fuel cell industry, and through intensive R&D and industrialisation we focus on producing durable, energy-efficient, and competitive methanol fuel cells to a wide range of industries.
The company is focused on the High-Temperature PEM-technology combined with methanol-reforming. The combination ensures a simple system design with high conversion efficiency and significant benefits including CO2 reduction, fuel cost savings, and zero harmful emissions.

2022
In December, Blue World Technologies celebrated the start of series production at the Blue Aalborg Factory. All production lines for the core fuel cell components (membrane, electrode, and separator plates) have been established and run in enabling an initial annual production capacity of 15MW.
2022
In August, Blue World Technologies closed a B round of 37 million euros (initiated in 2021) with The Sovereign Investment Fund of Denmark, Vækstfonden, the German engine manufacturer DEUTZ, and the Bill Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures as leading investors.
2021
Blue World Technologies took over an 8,500 m2 production building, which has the capacity to commercialise the methanol fuel cell technology. All production of the core components for the fuel cell stack has been insourced.
2020
Blue World Technologies acquired the remaining 85 per cent of Danish Power Systems to strengthen the market position of the company.
2020
Blue World Technologies closes a successful investment round of more than 6 million euro with both large and smaller investors.
2020
Blue World Technologies, started a limited production of methanol fuel cells – a first step towards commercialising the fuel cell technology.
2019
Blue World Technologies acquired 15 per cent of Danish Power Systems, a highly recognised developer and manufacturer of core components for HT-PEM fuel cells.
2019
In early 2019, just a few months after Blue World Technologies was founded the company closed a seed investment round of 6.4 million euro.
2018
Blue World Technologies is founded by Anders Korsgaard (CEO), Mads Bang, (CTO) and Mads Friis Jensen (CCO) with an aim to industialise the methanol fuel cell technology.
